The United Nations Security Council has unanimously extended the mandate of the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission in Haiti by one year, until October 2, 2025. The decision, made on September 30, 2024, aims to help quell rampant gang violence and re-establish security in the country. All 15 members of the Security Council voted in favor of the resolution. The Kenyan-led MSS mission has been crucial in providing international security support to Haiti.
