UN: Israeli Strikes Turn Gaza Hospitals into "Death Traps"; 136 Attacks Documented

The United Nations Human Rights Office has reported that Israeli attacks on hospitals and medical facilities in Gaza have devastated the enclave's healthcare system, pushing it to the brink of total collapse. The report, released on Tuesday, condemned the 136 documented strikes between October 7, 2023, and June 30, 2024, which have transformed hospitals into "death traps" and resulted in the deaths of patients, medical staff, and civilians. At least 27 of Gaza's 38 hospitals and 12 other medical facilities were hit during this period. The UN described Israel's allegations that Palestinian armed groups are using hospitals for military purposes as "vague and contradictory," emphasizing that such attacks disregard international humanitarian and human rights law.
