VisitUN Confirms Aid Trucks Enter Gaza After Israel-Hamas Ceasefire; 4,000 More Ready
Jan 19, 2025, 10:39 AM
Following a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, aid trucks have begun entering the Gaza Strip through the Rafah and Kerem Shalom crossings. The United Nations confirmed that the first humanitarian aid trucks have entered Gaza. UNRWA stated that they have 4,000 trucks ready to deliver aid, half of which carry food and flour. Egyptian sources reported that about 200 aid trucks, including 20 carrying fuel, began arriving at the Kerem Shalom crossing. Earlier reports indicated that 95 aid trucks had entered, and expectations are that up to 600 trucks, including 50 fuel trucks daily, will enter Gaza. The aid deliveries, which began on Sunday, including much-needed food and fuel, are expected to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in the war-torn Gaza Strip. More than 500 trucks are poised to enter the territory in the coming days.
