Jul 24, 2024, 06:30 AM
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has arrived in China for a visit from July 23 to 26, at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. This marks Kuleba's first visit to China since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. The main focus of the visit is to discuss ways to end the ongoing war in Ukraine and explore China's possible role in achieving a just and lasting peace. During the talks in Guangzhou, Kuleba expressed Ukraine's readiness to negotiate with Russia, provided that the negotiations are rational, practical, and aimed at achieving a durable peace. Wang Yi emphasized China's commitment to a political settlement of the Ukraine crisis and the healthy development of bilateral relations. The discussions, which lasted over three hours, highlighted the importance of direct dialogue between Kyiv and Beijing.
