VisitUkrainian Forces Capture Over 1,000 Russian Soldiers, Including Kadyrov's Troops, in Kursk
Aug 12, 2024, 08:09 AM
The Ukrainian Army has captured a significant number of Russian soldiers, including conscripts and Chechen fighters from the Akhmat unit, in the Kursk region of Russia. Reports indicate that the number of Russian prisoners of war has exceeded 1,000, with many being captured during Ukraine's recent offensive into the region. Among those captured are more than 50 Chechen fighters led by Ramzan Kadyrov, who were reportedly attempting to retreat. The Ukrainian forces have been advancing in the Kursk region, with sightings of Ukrainian armored vehicles, such as the BTR-4, moving freely in areas like the village of Gir'i and near Sudzha. However, some Ukrainian vehicles have also been captured by Russian forces, including a BTR-4E infantry fighting vehicle.
