VisitUkrainian Drones Hit Russian Defense Microelectronics Plant Supplying Iskander, Pantsir Systems in Bryansk
Oct 19, 2024, 08:06 AM
Overnight, Ukrainian drones attacked the Kremniy EL microelectronics plant in Russia's Bryansk region, located over 100 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The Kremniy EL plant is one of Russia's largest manufacturers of microelectronics, with 90% of its output dedicated to military applications. It produces components widely used in Russian defense production, including for Iskander missile systems, Pantsir air defense systems, radar and electronic warfare systems, and Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The attack reportedly caused explosions and possibly a fire at the facility. Russian air defense forces allegedly shot down 17 drones over the region during the incident. This is not the first time the plant has been targeted; it was previously attacked by Ukrainian drones in late 2023.
