The attack led to a chain reaction of secondary explosions at nearby ammunition depots. NASA's FIRMS orbital firing monitoring system confirmed widespread fires at the large Russian missile and ammunition storage facility. The explosions were so severe that nearby residents are being evacuated. The facility, which housed thousands of tons of ammunition and missiles, continues to burn heavily.
