Sep 18, 2024, 08:14 AM
A significant Ukrainian drone attack on the 107th GRAU Arsenal in Toropets, Tver region, Russia, has resulted in massive explosions and fires. The strike, involving over 100 UAVs, targeted a major ammunition depot storing up to 30,000 tons of various munitions, including Iskander and Tochka-U missiles, Grad and S-300/400 missiles, and North Korean KN-23 missiles. The explosions were so powerful that they registered as earthquakes with magnitudes up to 2.8 on the Richter scale. The attack has led to the partial evacuation of Toropets, with local authorities citing falling debris from intercepted drones as the cause of fires. Satellite imagery and eyewitness reports confirm extensive damage, with fires visible from space. The destroyed munitions were valued at $200 billion, and at least 10 soldiers guarding the arsenal are dead. This strike is considered one of the most significant Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory since the start of the war.
