VisitUkrainian Drone Attack Forces Evacuation in Toropets, Russia's Tver Region Amid Explosions
Sep 18, 2024, 02:54 AM
The Governor of Russia's Tver Region, Igor Rudenya, has ordered a partial evacuation of Toropets town following a series of Ukrainian drone attacks that targeted a military site. The drones struck the munitions depot at military unit 54169 and the 107th Arsenal, causing massive explosions and fires. Six UAVs were involved in the attack, with three being shot down by air defense while the remaining drones reached their target. The explosions have led to widespread fires, and local residents are being evacuated. The depot, which can store up to 30,000 tons of munitions, continues to burn and detonate. The site is approximately 470km from Ukraine, and NASA's FIRMS orbital firing monitoring system shows widespread fires.
