Ukrainian authorities have detained a 72-year-old mechanical scientist from Kharkiv for allegedly assisting Russia in enhancing its kamikaze drone capabilities. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) claims that the scientist was involved in the modernization of engines and launch systems for the Geran-2 (Shahed-136) drones. Investigations revealed that he developed blueprints for improving these systems, which are crucial for the operational effectiveness of the drones. The SBU has also published an image of a newly designed launcher for the Geran-2 drones, indicating ongoing efforts to counteract Russian advancements in drone technology.
