Ukrainian ATACMS Strikes Cause Massive Fire in Russian-Held Luhansk, Hit Donetsk Positions

Last week, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a missile strike on Russian positions near the Mospyne airfield in Donetsk region using the American ATACMS Block 1 (M39) missile. On May 27, a series of explosions were reported in the Russian-held city of Luhansk, possibly due to another ATACMS strike in the Luhansk Oblast, specifically around the LVVAUSh area. The strikes caused a massive fire, and Russian air defenses were reportedly active but failed to intercept the missiles. The head of the Lugansk People's Republic, Leonid Pasechnik, confirmed that cluster munitions were used, and information about injuries is still being clarified. Russia's RIA news agency also reported the blasts.
