VisitUkraine to Receive F-16 Jets, Some to be Stationed in Romania and Poland
Jun 10, 2024, 10:27 AM
Ukraine is set to receive F-16 fighter jets from Western partners, which will be stationed at secure airbases outside the country to avoid becoming targets for Russian attacks. Some of these jets are likely to be based in Romania and Poland, where they will fly to Ukraine for combat missions and return to their bases. This strategy, described by Serhiy Holubtsov, head of aviation for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, aims to protect the aircraft from potential strikes. However, Andrei Kartapolov, Chairman of the State Duma Defence Committee, warned that foreign airbases hosting these jets could become targets for Russia.
