VisitUkraine to Continue Oil Transit to Europe, Confirms Naftogaz CEO
Aug 30, 2024, 03:07 PM
Ukraine has announced that it will continue to transport oil to European countries in accordance with its existing contracts. This decision was confirmed by Oleksiy Chernyshov, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ukrainian state-run company Naftogaz. Despite earlier reports suggesting that Ukraine might halt the transit of Russian oil through its territory starting January 1, 2025, the country has committed to fulfilling its contractual obligations. This includes the transportation of oil via the Druzhba pipeline, as stated by an adviser to President Zelensky's office. The commitment to continue oil transit has been reported by multiple sources, including media outlets and officials.
