Jan 14, 2025, 06:16 AM
Ukraine launched a large-scale drone and missile attack on multiple regions within Russia overnight on January 14, 2025, reportedly using 200 drones and 15 U.S.-made ATACMS missiles. The attacks targeted industrial facilities, including the Orgsintez chemical plant in Kazan, where fires erupted after drones struck liquefied gas storage tanks, and an oil depot in Engels. Airports in Kazan, Kaluga, Saratov, Tambov, Penza, and Ulyanovsk were temporarily closed due to the attacks, and schools in a southern Russian city were forced to close. Drone attacks were reported in the Russian regions of Saratov, Tula, Oryol, Bryansk, Rostov, Voronezh, and Tambov. Russian officials reported that air defenses shot down more than 200 Ukrainian drones during the attack, while Ukrainian sources claimed the strikes caused significant damage to Russian infrastructure. No casualties have been reported.
