A Russian Tu-134 military transport aircraft was destroyed in a fire at the Orenburg-2 airfield in Russia's Orenburg region on the night of October 12-13, 2024. The aircraft belonged to the 117th Military Transport Aviation Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces and was used by the Russian Ministry of Defense. Ukraine's Defense Intelligence (GUR) claimed responsibility for the incident and posted a video showing the fire breaking out and subsequent efforts by Russian military personnel.
