VisitUkraine's Drone and Missile Attacks Ignite Feodosia Oil Depot in Crimea, Disrupting Russian Military Supply
Oct 7, 2024, 06:01 AM
Ukrainian forces launched a missile and drone attack on an oil depot in Russian-occupied Feodosia, Crimea, overnight, causing a large fire that continues to burn from three main sources of ignition. The oil facility, previously targeted earlier this year, is the largest in Crimea in terms of transshipment volumes of oil products and is one of only two such terminals on the peninsula. The fuel stored there is used to supply the Russian military. Local authorities reported explosions prior to the fire and have declared a man-made emergency, evacuating residents of nearby areas due to heavy smoke. Emergency crews are on the scene battling the blaze. The attack comes despite recent upgrades to the facility's air defense systems, including Pantsir and S-300 units.
