VisitUkraine Launches Major Drone Attack on Moscow Oil Refinery, Russian Infrastructure
Sep 1, 2024, 07:08 AM
Ukraine launched a significant drone attack on Russia, targeting 15 regions, including Moscow, with 158 drones. The attack, one of the largest since the war began, struck key infrastructure, including the Konakovskaya State District Power Plant in Tver and the Moscow Oil Refinery in the Kapotnya district, 15km from the Kremlin. The Konakovskaya plant, one of Russia's largest thermal power stations, and the Moscow refinery, a major producer of gasoline and diesel, experienced significant fires. Russian officials claim their air defenses shot down many drones, but fires at the targeted sites indicate some drones hit their marks. The attack highlights the ongoing escalation in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
