VisitUkraine Investigates Execution of Four National Guard Soldiers by Russian Forces Near Selydove on October 6
Oct 24, 2024, 07:30 AM
The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine has launched an investigation into the alleged execution of four National Guard soldiers by Russian forces near Selydove in the Donetsk region on October 6. This incident is part of a growing number of cases of Russian executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war, which are explicitly forbidden under the Geneva Conventions. The Security Service of Ukraine is also involved in the investigation. Executions of Ukrainian POWs by Russian soldiers have increased since 2023, raising concerns about either a systemic approach by Russian leaders or their total disinterest in the conduct of their soldiers.
