VisitUkraine Drone Attack Hits Moscow Oil Refinery, Power Plants; 158 Drones Downed, Kaluga Airport Targeted
Sep 1, 2024, 06:07 AM
Ukraine launched a large-scale drone attack on Russia, targeting multiple regions including Moscow and Tver, on the night of September 1, 2024. Russian officials reported that 158 drones were shot down, but significant damage was inflicted on key infrastructure. The Moscow Oil Refinery, located 15 km from the Kremlin, experienced a major fire following the drone strike. Additionally, the Konakovo Thermal Power Plant in Tver and the Kashira power plant in the Moscow region were hit, resulting in fires. Despite Russian claims of repelling the attacks, video evidence suggests substantial damage to these facilities. The Kaluga airport was also attacked, with reports of 11 drones downed in Bryansk and sightings in Lipetsk.
