Dec 6, 2024, 12:50 PM
On Ukrainian Armed Forces Day, December 6, 2024, Ukraine unveiled its new domestically-produced missile-drone, "Peklo" ("Hell"), developed by the state arms concern Ukroboronprom. The Peklo drone-missile, capable of reaching speeds up to 700 km/h and with a range exceeding 700 km, has confirmed combat effectiveness from five successful deployments. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the delivery of the first batch of Peklo drones to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and emphasized the need to scale up production and deployment. The Peklo has now entered serial production. In addition, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced that the "Palianytsia" missile-drone project has entered mass production. Ukraine plans to supply over 30,000 long-range strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to its army in 2025 as part of President Zelensky's Resilience Plan. Some of these drones are financed by international partners investing in Ukraine's defense industry.
