UK Unveils 56 New Sanctions Targeting Russia's Defense Industry and Wagner Group

Britain's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has unveiled the country's largest sanctions package against Russia since May 2023, announcing 56 new measures targeting the Russian defense industry. The sanctions aim to disrupt the supply of critical equipment necessary for President Vladimir Putin's illegal war in Ukraine and strike at the heart of Russia's military-industrial complex. The package includes restrictions on individuals associated with the Wagner Group and Kremlin-linked mercenary groups operating in Africa.
