The United Kingdom has announced new sanctions targeting Russia's shadow oil fleet, imposing penalties on 20 vessels involved in the illegal transportation of Russian oil. This move comes as part of the UK's ongoing efforts to combat the financing of Russia's military actions in Ukraine. Additionally, the UK has pledged £35 million (approximately $44 million) in emergency support to Ukraine, aimed at restoring its energy infrastructure and providing humanitarian aid to vulnerable populations. The financial aid will be allocated for urgent repairs of energy networks and other critical support. This announcement follows the EU's recent adoption of its 15th sanctions package against Russia, which also includes measures against Chinese entities and additional restrictions on 52 Russian ships.
