UK counter-terrorism police are assisting an investigation into the sudden death of 32-year-old Daily Telegraph journalist David Knowles in Gibraltar. Knowles, who was known for his pro-Ukrainian podcast and standpoints, died suddenly on Sunday. The Royal Gibraltar Police requested assistance from UK detectives, who brought their expertise in handling international inquiries. Despite the involvement of counter-terrorism officers, the Royal Gibraltar Police stated there were no specific concerns at this time surrounding the death. Knowles had been included on a Russian Foreign Ministry list of sanctioned British journalists in 2023. Knowles was also a Fleet Street reporter.
