Udaipur Violence: House Demolition, Internet Shutdown After Student Stabbing

In Udaipur, Rajasthan, communal tensions flared following a knife attack on a student by a classmate on August 16. The incident led to violent reactions, including arson and stone pelting. In response, the Udaipur district administration demolished the house of the accused, a minor Muslim boy, after allowing his family to remove their belongings. To maintain law and order, Section 144 was imposed in the area, and an internet shutdown was enforced. The family of the victim participated in a rally, alleging they were not permitted to see the victim in the hospital. The city is gradually returning to normalcy.
