VisitUConn Extends Jim Mora Through 2028 After 27-14 Fenway Bowl Win Over North Carolina
Dec 28, 2024, 07:17 PM
UConn football coach Jim Mora has agreed to a two-year contract extension through December 31, 2028, following the team's successful season. The new deal is valued at $10.01 million over the remaining four years, with an average salary of $2.5 million annually, and includes opportunities for performance-based incentives and a retention bonus. In 2025, Mora is set to receive $2.115 million in basic pay, an increase of over $300,000 from his previous contract. Mora led the Huskies to a 9-4 record this season—their best since 2007—and a 27-14 victory over North Carolina in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl. This marks UConn's first bowl win since 2009. The extension reflects the progress the program has made under Mora's leadership since he took over a 1-11 team and led them to two bowl appearances in three years.
