VisitUCLA Receives $220 Million for Westside Pavilion Research Hub
Aug 27, 2024, 05:32 PM
The University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) is transforming the former Westside Pavilion, once a shopping destination, into a medical research center. This transformation is being accelerated by a $120 million donation from the Michelson family. Additionally, a $100 million gift is contributing to the development. The funds will be used to establish the California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, a public-private partnership aimed at advancing research and medical breakthroughs. The new research hub is expected to attract compatible businesses to the neighborhood and potentially become a leading medical research center on the West Coast.
