VisitU.S. in Talks to Send Israel's Eight Patriot Systems to Ukraine
Jun 27, 2024, 05:30 PM
The United States is in discussions to send Israel's Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, according to the Financial Times. The talks involve the U.S., Israel, and Ukraine, with the potential delivery of up to eight Patriot systems. Israel had announced in April that it would retire its eight Patriot batteries, which are over 30 years old. The Patriot systems, manufactured by Raytheon, would significantly enhance Ukraine's ability to defend against Russian air strikes. The deal, however, is not yet finalized. Reports have also noted purchases of Raytheon stock by a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
