The U.S. State Department has officially launched an Online Passport Renewal system, allowing eligible U.S. citizens to renew their passports online. This new system, which became fully available to the public on Wednesday, aims to modernize government services by providing a more efficient and convenient alternative to the traditional paper application process. The program, which had been in a beta phase, is now accessible 24/7, enabling users to bypass cumbersome mail-in procedures. Routine processing is expected to take 6-8 weeks once applications are submitted. The system allows American travelers to renew passports that have expired within the past five years.
