U.S. Provisionally Approves $680 Million Arms Sale to Israel Amid Hezbollah Ceasefire

According to the Financial Times, President Joe Biden has provisionally approved a $680 million arms sale to Israel, including thousands of Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) kits and hundreds of small-diameter bombs. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cited the new weapons deliveries as a reason for agreeing to a U.S.-brokered ceasefire with Hezbollah in Lebanon. Congress has been briefed on the arms sales package.
