The U.S. population grew at its fastest rate in 23 years in 2024, surpassing 340 million residents, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. This growth rate, approximately 1%, was driven primarily by immigration, which accounted for about 2.8 million of the total increase of approximately 3.3 million. The Census Bureau's estimates also revealed that Florida's population exceeded 23.3 million, making it one of the fastest-growing states, alongside Texas and Utah. Notably, the District of Columbia experienced the highest growth rate at 2.2%. The growth rate marks a significant recovery from the record low of 0.2% in 2021, during the peak of pandemic restrictions.
