The U.S. Navy has deployed warships and aircraft to track a Russian naval flotilla after the Russian vessels, including a nuclear-powered submarine, sailed within 100 miles of the U.S. coast near South Florida. This deployment comes as the Russian fleet made a close pass to Florida in its approach to Cuba. U.S. officials confirmed the presence of the Russian vessels less than 30 miles off South Florida’s coast on Tuesday. The U.S. Navy has been deployed in Miami.
