VisitU.S. Imposes Sanctions on Chinese and Russian Entities Over Garpiya Drones Used in Ukraine War

The United States on October 17 imposed sanctions on two Chinese companies and an affiliated Russian company involved in making and shipping drones that Russia has used in its full-scale war in Ukraine. The U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control announced the sanctions against the entities, which are involved in producing Russian Garpiya drones used to attack Ukraine. The sanctions target the manufacturer of Harpy drone engines and the supplier of these drones to Russia. This marks the first time the U.S. has sanctioned Chinese companies producing drones for Russia. Additionally, one Russian national was sanctioned.
