U.S. Housing Starts Surge 9.6% in August to 1.356 Million, Beating Expectations

U.S. housing starts surged in August, reaching 1.356 million, significantly surpassing the expected 1.310 million and marking a 9.6% increase MoM from the previous month's revised figure of 1.237 million. Building permits also saw an increase, rising to 1.475 million, above the estimated 1.410 million and up 4.9% from the previous month's revised figure of 1.396 million. These figures indicate a robust improvement in the U.S. housing market compared to prior months, with housing starts exceeding the estimated 6.5% growth.
