VisitU.S. Commerce Department Adds 26 Entities, Including Chinese Companies, to Entity List Over WMD and Drone Program Violations
Oct 21, 2024, 04:41 PM
The U.S. Department of Commerce has added 26 entities to its Entity List due to actions deemed contrary to national security interests. This decision includes foreign companies, notably from China, that have been implicated in supporting weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs and drone initiatives related to Iran. The announcement follows ongoing tensions regarding U.S. sanctions, with some companies claiming they have lost government contracts as a result. In a related move, the Commerce Department has also removed Sandvine from the Entity List after the company realigned its business focus towards democratic governance.
