Jun 3, 2024, 03:10 PM
CEOs in the U.S. received significant pay raises in 2023, further widening the income gap between them and their employees. The typical compensation package for chief executives of companies in the S&P 500 increased by nearly 13% last year. This rise in executive pay comes at a time when inflation has been putting considerable pressure on American workers' budgets. On average, U.S. CEOs earned nearly 200 times more than their employees in 2023.
