    U.S. Border Patrol agents near Fronton, Texas, came under fire from suspected Mexican cartel gunmen as they attempted to intercept a group of migrants crossing the Rio Grande River. The agents were shot at from the Mexican side of the border near Fronton Island, also known as Cartel Island. Border Patrol agents returned fire, and no injuries were reported on either side. A Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC) responded to the scene. The agents prevented the migrants from crossing the border.
