VisitTyler Huntley Leads Dolphins to 20-3 Win Over Browns, Playoff Hopes Alive
Dec 29, 2024, 11:00 PM
The Miami Dolphins kept their playoff hopes alive with a 20-3 victory over the Cleveland Browns. Tyler Huntley, starting in place of the injured Tua Tagovailoa, led the Dolphins by completing 22 of 26 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns—one passing to Jonnu Smith and one rushing. Huntley also added 53 rushing yards. Kicker Jason Sanders extended his field goal streak to 25 consecutive makes, including a 54-yard field goal that bounced off the crossbar and went in, giving the Dolphins an early 3-0 lead. Sanders is now four field goals away from tying the franchise single-season record of 39 set by Olindo Mare in 1999. The Dolphins led 6-3 at halftime and 13-3 after the third quarter. The defense held the Browns to just three points, with Cleveland quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson struggling throughout the game. With an 8-8 record, the Dolphins can secure a playoff berth with a win against the New York Jets in Week 18, provided the Denver Broncos lose to the Kansas City Chiefs.
