Oct 10, 2024, 11:40 AM
Two UN peacekeepers in Lebanon were injured after an Israeli tank fired at a UN watchtower at the UNIFIL headquarters in southern Lebanon, causing them to fall. The UN peacekeeping force reported that their HQ and nearby positions were repeatedly hit amid exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah. UN sources indicate that the Israeli military fired at three UNIFIL positions, including one where peacekeepers were sheltering, and deliberately fired at and disabled UN security cameras. The Israel Defense Forces' actions were reported by Reuters.
