VisitTwitch Launches Revenue-Sharing Program for DJs with Record Labels
Jun 6, 2024, 04:02 PM
Twitch has announced a new program today that will allow DJs to use copyrighted music in their livestreams by paying a fee. This initiative includes revenue-sharing agreements with major record labels such as Universal Music Group (UMG), Warner Music Group (WMG), Sony Music, and various independent labels. Under this program, DJs will be able to split revenue with these record labels, providing a legal avenue for using copyrighted songs during their streams. This move, illustrated by Nick Barclay, aims to address the long-standing issue of copyright infringement on the platform.
