Twelve individuals have been sentenced to up to three years and four months in prison for their involvement in rioting linked to the 2019 Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) siege. This sentencing is part of one of the largest single riot trials related to the 2019 mass protests in Hong Kong. The sentences for the 12 defendants range from 36 to 40 months. Among the 210 people arrested outside the PolyU siege on November 18, 2019, eight other defendants have undergone mitigation and will be sentenced on September 16.
