Türksat 6A Satellite to Expand Türkiye's Communication to 5 Billion, Covering 4 New Countries by February 2025

The Türksat 6A satellite is set to enhance Türkiye's communication capabilities, reaching an additional 5 billion people across regions including India, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The satellite is expected to achieve full operational capacity by February 2025. Ulaştırma ve Altyapı Bakanı Abdulkadir Uraloğlu confirmed that Türkiye currently serves 3.5 billion people through five satellites and that Türksat 6A will expand this coverage to four more countries. The satellite will operate in the 42° East orbit, contributing to a satellite fleet that can access 65% of the global population. This initiative is part of Türkiye's broader strategy to strengthen its global communication presence.
