Turkish FM Fidan Meets New Syrian Leader, Demands PKK/YPG Dissolution and Israeli Respect for Sovereignty

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, during a meeting with Ahmed Eş-Şara, the new leader of Syria, has reiterated Turkey's stance on the situation in the country, emphasizing that there is no place for the PKK/YPG terror group in Syria. Fidan stressed the importance of Syrian territorial integrity and sovereignty, stating that it is non-negotiable. He called for the immediate dissolution of the PKK/YPG, describing it as a terror group that occupies Syrian territory and steals its resources. Fidan also condemned any attempts by Israel to exploit the current situation to seize Syrian land, demanding that Israel respect Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity. Furthermore, he expressed Turkey's commitment to supporting the Syrian people in their fight against terrorism, including both PKK/YPG and ISIS, and highlighted the need for the international community to lift sanctions on Syria to aid its recovery.
