Turkey Urges US to Reverse 'Erroneous Step' on Cyprus Arms Sales

Turkey has condemned the United States' decision to designate the Greek Cypriot Administration as an eligible country for arms sales and military training, calling it a 'grave mistake.' The Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed its disapproval, stating that the decision would increase armament activities on the island, which is already in a sensitive period. Turkey urged the incoming US administration to reverse this 'erroneous step' taken by the current President. Furthermore, Turkey, as a guarantor state, announced it would continue to support the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in enhancing its defense and deterrence capabilities.
