Turkey is pursuing a maritime agreement with Syria, according to Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu. The proposed maritime demarcation agreement aims to establish authorities for oil and hydrocarbon exploration between the two nations. Uraloğlu highlighted an action plan for infrastructure development in Syria, which includes reviving Damascus Airport and modernizing rail and road networks. The Turkish government intends to collaborate with Syria's new administration to enhance trade, transport, and energy cooperation. The minister noted that Turkey is prepared to take significant steps in this direction, contingent upon the right timing for the maritime agreement. The Turkish Ministry of National Defense has also emphasized the importance of defense cooperation with Syria for regional stability and counter-terrorism efforts.
