Apr 25, 2024, 08:21 AM
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) has announced plans to launch its new chip manufacturing technology, the A16, which will produce ultra-advanced 1.6-nanometer chips by the second half of 2026. This development sets up a competitive scenario with Intel, as TSMC aims to maintain its leadership in the semiconductor industry. The A16 technology, a follow-up to the N2 node, will feature backside power delivery, which is expected to improve performance by 8-10% or power efficiency by 15-20%.
