VisitTSMC Achieves Yields at Arizona Facility, On Track for 2025 Mass Production with $6.6 Billion Chips Act Grant

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) has achieved production yields at its Arizona facility comparable to its established plants in Taiwan, indicating that its US project is on track to meet its targets. This development is a positive sign for the semiconductor industry in Arizona, which is expected to create thousands of advanced manufacturing jobs. The chief workforce officer of the Arizona Commerce Authority highlighted the collaboration between the semiconductor industry, academia, government, and nonprofits to fill these anticipated job needs. TSMC is also in line for a $6.6 billion Chips Act grant and a $5 billion loan, although no funds have been disbursed yet. Additionally, a former TSMC executive is playing a key role in developing Arizona's job pipeline. TSMC plans to start mass production and full production in Arizona in 2025.
