VisitTrump Transition Team Signs MOU with Biden White House After Lengthy Delay for January 20 Transition
Nov 26, 2024, 09:59 PM
President-elect Donald Trump's transition team has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with President Joe Biden's White House, marking the official start of the transition process. This agreement, signed after a significant delay, allows Trump's team to coordinate with the existing federal workforce and prepare for his administration's transition into office on January 20. The MoU enables Trump's Cabinet nominees to send 'landing teams' into every department to begin 'critical preparation' for the transition. Susie Wiles, Trump's incoming chief of staff, emphasized that this step signifies the next phase of the transition process, involving key documents for Trump's return to office. The agreement was supposed to have been signed by October 1, as per the Presidential Transition Act, and the Biden-Harris administration had issued both public and private appeals for the Trump-Vance Transition team to sign on.
