Trump to Sign Executive Order on First Day Recognizing Only Two Sexes, Ending DEI Programs

President-elect Donald Trump is set to sign an executive order on his first day in office that will establish the policy of the United States to recognize only two sexes, male and female, across all federal government agencies. The order, titled 'Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government,' aims to reverse previous policies by mandating that federal identification documents, such as passports and visas, reflect biological sex rather than self-assessed gender identity. It also prohibits transgender-identifying males from participating in women's sports or being housed in women's prisons, and ends the practice of requiring the use of preferred pronouns in federal workplaces and publicly funded institutions. Additionally, the executive order is part of a broader set of nearly 200 policy actions Trump plans to implement immediately upon taking office, which also include ending diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs across federal agencies.
