Yemen's Vice President Aidarous al-Zubaidi has expressed optimism about Donald Trump's return to the White House, suggesting it could lead to a stronger stance against the Iran-backed Houthi forces. Trump is reportedly preparing an executive order to redesignate the Houthis as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO), reversing a decision made by the Biden administration to revoke their designation. This move comes after the Houthis have engaged in repeated attacks on commercial and military vessels in the Red Sea since October 7. The Trump administration's decision is also expected to condemn Iran's support for the Yemeni rebels. Additionally, the Houthis recently released the crew of the Galaxy Leader, aligning with a ceasefire in Gaza.
