Nov 12, 2024, 01:40 AM
President-elect Donald Trump is expected to nominate Senator Marco Rubio of Florida as Secretary of State, according to multiple reports including The New York Times. While Trump could still potentially change his mind, if confirmed, Rubio would become the first Latino to hold the position and the highest-ranking Hispanic American in U.S. government history. The appointment would also allow Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to appoint a temporary replacement for Rubio's Senate seat until a special election is held.
